Alright...soooooooo if ure a WHITE STRIPES fan...u kinda got excited when we saw Jack n Meg TOGETHER PLAYING LIVE on the last 'Late Night w/Conan O'Brien' show (before he started to move to LA)...kinda thought MAYBE they'd reschedule that tour they canceled due to her anxiety issues..."never say never" they say but for now...we have to keep saying "maybe someday"??? ;( here's what Jack is doing NOW... ;0
and his new uh partner (& secret crush?) ;0
The White Stripes' Jack White and The Kills' Alison Mosshart have formed a new band – The Dead Weather. The band, which also features Jack Lawrence of White's 'other' band The Raconteurs and Dean Fertita of Queens Of The Stone Age, played a gig in the offices of White's label Third Man Records in Nashville last night (March 11) in front of 150 people. The collective are set to release an album, 'Horehound', in June, , according to Thirdmanrecords.com. The album was produced by White and will feature lead single 'Hang You From The Heavens', which you can hear by clicking on the video below. Plus see Thedeadweather.com for more information. The single will be backed up by a cover of Gary Numan's 'Are Friends Electric?' and is available on iTunes now.

With the big release of their 12th studio album 'No Line on the Horizon' out this week...you're gonna be hearing LOTS from the band U2 this week...and like the profile pic shows...they have their own STREET for a bit anyways... New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg,
left, and New York Council Speaker Christine Quin, right, are joined by
members of the band U2, from second left, Adam Clayton, Bono, The Edge
and Larry Mullen during a ceremony, Tuesday, March 3, 2009 in New York.
A section of Manhattan's West 53rd Street was temporarily renamed after
the veteran Irish rockers on Tuesday.
The band are appearing every night this week on ’The Late Show With David Letterman’, and the TV show’s studio is at 53rd Street. " The Beatles had Penny Lane, Elvis lived on the end of Lonely Street," Bono told a crowd gathered at the corner of 53rd and Broadway today. "We're here somewhere between 10th Avenue and funky, funky Broadway, somewhere south of Duke Ellington Way and north of Joey Ramone Place we find ourselves ... where the streets have no name," he said...the street will be called U2 Way for a week.
Got any good U2 stories to share?????? Hear NEW U2 Music! Check out video's and MORE!! CLICK HERE:

Lucky Charms...Red Bull cans...old remote controls??? What in the hell are MCR talkin bout Willis??? ;0
My Chemical Romance are seeking donations of Red Bull cans for a "Red Bull wall" drummer Bob Bryar hopes to complete by the time the band finish their new record??? I'm sure u saw this but incase NOT...in a posting on their official site...blogged and showed this...
"this is a little nook in my wall where i am starting the "red bull
wall". i hope to have the entire wall done by the time we finish the
record. we are taking donations for it. please collect every red bull
can that you can find and ship to the following address. i will post
pictures along with the progress. thank you!" huh??? Come on-I know RED BULL would hook u up!
send to:
warner brothers records
C/O jeff watson
3300 Warner Blvd
Burbank, CA 91505
edit-
now that i think about it more just send whatever. an old suitcase, or
a remote that you dont know what its for, or a shoe, etc.
edit2-
if you live close you can actually just drop off a bag of stuff at the
front door of warner. just put a big sign that says "jeff watson" on
it. huh??
In addition, Gerard Way suggested that a "Turkish lucky charm" as well as a monkey's paw be added as marshmallow shapes for the popular Lucky Charms
breakfast cereal???!! "They could easily be adapted to marshmallow form.
Can't you picture it?" he wrote. "I think a Monkey's Paw would make an
excellent addition to Lucky Charms as it is in fact, a lucky charm from days of yore. Most likely illegal now." Now he's just making me just want to eat CEREAL ;0
Gerard also said "Can you count your age by the marshmallows in a bowl of Lucky Charms?
Like the rings of a great oak tree? I remember, as a child, the
addition of Purple Horseshoes and eventually Red Balloons. I now notice
there are Yellow Hourglasses. How many new magical totems of sugar will
be in the bowl when I reach the age of 65?" Mmmm...do they have too much time on their hands or what??? Do I smell a General Mills Lucky Charms endorsement deal??? How seriously do u take this??? Email us and let us know whazzzz up ;) and on that note...how about a * charm??? Like in 98*7fm??? Just sayin!

Coldplay's Chris Martin has revealed the band are planning to release a live album for free this summer!! SHUT UP!!! THAT ROCKS!!!! The band wants to give the record away to fans as they attend their stadium gigs in September. "What we want to do is try to give away a live album for free," Martin told The Sun. He also said that one idea behind the album was to provide respite
to fans who are struggling with the current economic crisis. "We're playing a lot of shows in the summer and I think what we would
like to do is - bearing in mind the recession we are in - record the
live album then give it as a gift," he added. "We are just trying to work out how to do that. It's obviously a bit
tricky in terms of record contracts and things but it would be great.
Its a way of saying thank you. It's a tough economy and people are
paying a lot of money for tickets. "We are trying to work out a way that, when you hand your ticket in at
the door, you get given the recording. It would be such a cool thing to
do."
Coldplay are set to play the following dates:
Manchester Old Trafford Cricket Ground (September 12)
Dublin Phoenix Park (14)
Glasgow Hampden Park (16)
London Wembley Stadium (18, 19)
digg_skin = 'compact';
digg_window = 'new';

So we knoooooow that the new Green Day album is in the 'works' as they say...but now it's getting serious! ;) We know more about what's going on AND they just released the new album cover art work TODAY!! What else do we know???
Well...the January issue of Alternative Press contained an article titled "Most Anticipated Albums of '09." Green Day had granted the magazine an exclusive interview in the studio, and the resulting article was the centerpiece of the '09 Albums feature. An ad for the magazine stated, "How does America’s biggest punk band top the politically charged, multi-platinum-selling American Idiot? Simple: They ratchet things up louder, prouder and even more defiantly. 21st Century Breakdown Know Your Enemy Viva la Gloria Before the Lobotomy Christian's Inferno Last Night on Earth March of the Dogs ...more to come... To the delight of the community, the Alternative Press article contained a great deal of news about the new album. The two main things that readers wished for but didn't get from the article were a title and a release date for the album. However, it was obvious that the famine was over, and it became easier to believe that more news would be coming soon. One thing that the article did mention was the working titles of the album's three acts: Act 1 - “Heroes and Cons” Act 2 - “Charlatans and Saints” Act 3 - "Horseshoes and Handgrenades" Also included were song titles and brief descriptions for 7 songs - 6 from the first act and 1 from the second (no additional clues about the third act were forthcoming). See the scans of the AP article below for lots more detail. According to webmaster Andres, "The entire article has some really great descriptions of the work the guys have been doing and their feelings about it."
In addition to the print article in Alternative Press, AP.com released a two-part online interview with Billie Joe in their "From the Editor's Floor" section. In the first part, Billie Joe talked about the process of creating the new album and said, "I'm pushing myself to be progressive in songwriting and being a songwriter. I come from a culture where I'm into great albums, and I still believe in that." He also discussed working with Butch Vig as producer after so many years with Rob Cavallo. Part Two of the interview talks about the relationship the band members have with each other and about music in general. The month of January 2009 was frustrating for most Green Day fans, who kept expecting news to appear any day. Aside from many rumors (diligently squashed by our ever-watchful webmaster, Andres) and a blogger's interview with Butch Vig (posted in January but actually taken from a fall 2008 conversation) nothing was happening to satisfy our cravings. Finally, February brought some relief when the new web site posted a hint that something wonderful would be happening on "Sunday" (February 8). The news soon broke that Green Day would be presenters at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards. On Sunday evening, not long before the show started, the Idiot Club posted the news that the new album would be released in May 2009 and titled "21st Century Breakdown." Green Day fans all around the world watched the Grammy Awards ceremony waiting for a sight of Billie Joe, Mike, and Tre. They were rewarded when Green Day appeared to present the final award of the night - "Album of the Year." The following day, February 9, brought this news from RollingStone.com's Rock & Roll Daily: "Rolling Stone will have a host of details on Billie Joe and Co.’s latest next week — we joined the band in their San Francisco studio for a sneak peak at 21st Century Breakdown, and the full report will run in the next issue." One good thing followed another as February 10 brought a posting of the album cover art and a very short song teaser on the official Green Day web site, both of which were reported on the GDA news page. I think the majority of us would agree that this is the most fascinating wait for a new Green Day album we've yet seen. Several readers have commented on the positive feeling of getting so much information from the band about the process of the new album's development. As more news becomes available, this page will be updated with the new information and links to interesting threads, articles, sound bites, etc. Stay tuned!!! So...as the news unravels about this awful story...makes u wonder what would make someone who 'seeeeeeeeems to have EVERYTHING'...totally lose it! Was it alcohol? drugs? was he beat on as a kid? he needs anger management and then some?? we will soon hear 'his' side I'm sure...but just reading this breaks my heart and should be a reminder to everyone exactly how we NEVER EVER want to be treated ;(
Law enforcement sources have now gotten specific with us... police took pictures of Rihanna's injuries and they are "horrific."
As
we reported, the photos show major contusions on both sides of the
singer's face -- there is serious swelling and bruising. Her lip is
split and her nose bloody. We have now confirmed there are bite marks
on one of her arms and on several fingers.
And we now know this... Rihanna claims Brown struck her with his fists and that's what did the damage. There was no object used in the alleged attack.
Rihanna
refused treatment at the scene, but before she left cops took photos.
We're told the photos alone are "devastating proof of abuse."
And we've learned it was not Rihanna who called 911. Someone in the area heard her screams and called. (from our friends at tmz.com)
